Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran inspected ongoing construction of indoor sports arenas for volleyball, badminton, kabaddi and wushu at the Corporation Sports Ground near Nehru Indoor Stadium in Ward 83, Central Zone, directing officials to expedite work.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabhakaran, IAS, conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing construction work for indoor sports arenas at the Corporation Sports Ground located near Nehru Indoor Stadium in Ward No. 83, Central Zone of Coimbatore Corporation.

The indoor sports facilities being developed at the ground will accommodate various sporting activities including volleyball, badminton, kabaddi and wushu. During his visit today, the Commissioner personally reviewed the progress of construction work and directed the concerned officials to expedite the completion of the project.

The development of these indoor sports arenas is part of the Corporation's initiative to enhance sports infrastructure and provide better facilities for athletes and sports enthusiasts in the city. The project aims to create dedicated spaces for multiple indoor sports disciplines under one complex, enabling year-round training and competitions regardless of weather conditions.

The Commissioner was accompanied during the inspection by Central Zone Assistant Commissioner S N A Shanmugam, Assistant Engineer Sathishkumar, and other Corporation officials. The team assessed the quality of construction work and discussed timelines for project completion to ensure the facilities are made available to the public at the earliest.
