Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay met former AIADMK ministers S.P. Velumani and C.V. Shanmugam in person at their office in Chennai.

According to political sources, the meeting was held as a gesture of gratitude towards AIADMK MLAs who recently extended support to the ruling TVK government. During the interaction, S.P. Velumani and C.V. Shanmugam reportedly introduced supporting AIADMK legislators to Chief Minister Vijay.

The meeting comes at a politically sensitive time, as internal divisions within the AIADMK have intensified following the party’s recent electoral setback. Reports suggest that a faction led by S.P. Velumani and C.V. Shanmugam has been actively engaging with the Vijay-led TVK government, fueling speculation over shifting political alignments in Tamil Nadu.

Recent developments indicate that several AIADMK legislators, led by C.V. Shanmugam, have expressed support for the TVK administration headed by Vijay, while maintaining that the move is not intended to split the AIADMK.

The high-profile meeting between Vijay and the two senior AIADMK leaders has now become a major talking point in Tamil Nadu political circles, with observers closely watching its impact on the state’s evolving political landscape.
