Ex-Servicemen's Association Celebrates 78th Independence Day in Udumalpet

The Ex-Servicemen's Welfare Association in Udumalpet, Tirupur district, celebrated the 78th Independence Day at Netaji Ground. The event featured flag hoisting, parade, and recognition of academic achievers.



Tirupur: The Ex-Servicemen's Welfare Association of Udumalpet, Tirupur district, celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great fervor at Netaji Ground. The event was presided over by Ramalingam, the president of the Ex-Servicemen's Welfare Association.

Neelakandan, the chairman of the Lions Club Foundation, attended as a special guest and hoisted the national flag.



Prior to this, Naib Subedar Natarajan led a parade along with Suresh Prakash.



The celebration saw participation from Netaji March administrators, sports trainers, children of Indian ex-servicemen, and the general public.



The event also recognized academic excellence, with certificates and shields presented to students who secured the top three positions in the 10th and 12th standard public examinations from the Udumalpet and Madathukulam areas.





A highlight of the event was a display by student artist Kanimozhi, who exhibited portraits of 78 freedom fighters, commemorating India's 78 years of independence.

The Secretary of the Udumalpet Ex-Servicemen's Welfare Association, Saktivel, Treasurer Sivakumar, Naib Subedar Natarajan, and other ex-servicemen participated in the event, making it a memorable celebration of India's independence.
