District Collector Pays Tribute to Freedom Fighter Dheeran Chinnamalai on His Memorial Day

On Dheeran Chinnamalai's Memorial Day, Tiruppur District Collector Christuraj honored the freedom fighter by garlanding his portrait at Melpalayam Community Hall, declaring a local holiday for the district.


Coimbatore: The Tiruppur district administration observed the Memorial Day of freedom fighter Dheeran Chinnamalai with reverence and respect. District Collector Christuraj led the official ceremonies, paying homage to the revered freedom fighter at the Melpalayam Community Hall.

The event, which has been elevated to an official government function, saw the Collector garlanding the portrait of Dheeran Chinnamalai and showering it with flowers. This gesture symbolized the district's gratitude and admiration for the sacrifices made by the freedom fighter during India's struggle for independence.



In recognition of Dheeran Chinnamalai's significance to the region, Collector Christuraj had earlier declared a local holiday for Tiruppur district. The observance took place in Melpalayam, near Kangeyam in Tiruppur district, which is the birthplace of the celebrated freedom fighter.

The ceremony was attended by several district officials, including the Tiruppur Revenue Divisional Officer, underscoring the importance of the occasion. The collective participation of the administrative body highlighted the continued reverence for Dheeran Chinnamalai's contributions to the nation's freedom struggle.

This annual commemoration serves as a reminder of the valorous deeds of local heroes and their role in shaping the nation's history. It also reinforces the importance of preserving and honoring the legacy of freedom fighters for future generations.
