Coimbatore: As part of the 107th birth anniversary celebrations of former Chief Minister MGR, AIADMK members paid tribute to his portrait near the central bus station in Pollachi. The event, led by city secretary Krishnakumar, saw significant participation from AIADMK members, including former Deputy Speaker Pollachi Jayaraman.

Following the tribute, sweets were distributed to the public. However, the event took a political turn during Pollachi Jayaraman's press interaction. He sharply criticized the current DMK government under M. K. Stalin for widespread corruption, collection, and mismanagement. He accused the government of neglecting people's welfare, highlighting the misallocation of funds for projects like the 'unwritten pen' and 'non-running car races', which could have been diverted to flood relief or controlling the price rise.

Jayaraman condemned the government for failing to address the inflation and price hike issues, directly impacting the common people and transport workers. He described the current administration as one that 'hits the stomach of the workers', emphasizing the challenges faced by the public due to the government's policies.

The criticism comes at a time when the state is grappling with economic challenges, and the opposition is increasingly vocal about the government's alleged failures. Jayaraman's statements reflect the growing discontent among certain sections of the society in Tamil Nadu regarding the current state administration.
