Doubles Badminton Tournament held in Coimbatore - Kerala Club wins first prize

Collector Sameeran presented prizes to the winning teams from the city police, GST and income tax employees badminton tournaments held at the Coimbatore Kerala Club for the past 15 days.


Coimbatore: Kerala Club won the government employees' doubles badminton tournament in Coimbatore district on Saturday to lift the trophy.

For the past 15 days, the doubles badminton tournament for government employees has been held in Coimbatore under the auspices of Ultra Ready Mix Concrete.

In these competitions, Coimbatore City Police, GST and members from the Income Tax department, the print and media fraternity and members of the Kerala Club were present.



Prabhakaran/Balaji pair of Kerala Club played well in this match and won the first prize. The second prize was bagged by Gokul/Saravanan pair of Kerala Club, the third prize was bagged by Arunagiri/Manikandan pair of police and the fourth prize was bagged by Thangavelu and Siva of Kerala Club.

A prize distribution ceremony was held today for the winning teams of the competition.



Coimbatore District Collector Dr. Sameeran was the chief guest at the event and presented the awards in the presence of Sivasamy, President, Ultra Ready Mix Concrete Company, Ashok, President, Kerala Club, Secretary Rajkumar and members.



The matches were held at the Coimbatore Kerala Club with an aim to have a good acquaintance and relationship between the city police, GST and Income Tax department, print and media personnel and members of the Kerala Club, who work for the welfare of the public.



Speaking at the awards ceremony, the District Collector said, "Congratulations on bringing together many departments of service to the people by conducting this doubles badminton tournament. Congratulations to the Kerala Club for working not only for the Malayalee people but also for all the people. Congratulations to Ultra Ready Mix Concrete, its President Sivasamy, and all those who participated in the competition for their support to the 15-day tournament."
