IOC pipeline explodes near Vilankurichi in Coimbatore

According to rinitial.reports, during a test procedure of mixing gas with water was carried out in Kalapatti, Avinashi road and Thanneepandal, the pipelines near Vilankurichi exploded causing panic in the area.



Coimbatore: An explosion occurred in the Indian Oil Corporation pipeline at Vilankurichi near, here on Thursday.

The Indian Oil Corporation is laying a network of pipelines to supply LPG gas directly to 9 lakh homes in the next few years . Expected to be completed in the next eight years the pipeline laying work has been going on in many areas in the city limits including Kurichi and Malumichampatti.



According to reports, during a test procedure of mixing gas with water was carried out in Kalapatti, Avinashi road and Thanneepandal salai, the pipelines near Vilankurichi exploded causing panic in the area.



However no injuries were reported due to the accident.
