Marking International Yoga Day, Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan attended an event at a private college in Coimbatore and practised yoga.
Coimbatore: With International Yoga Day being celebrated around the world and in various parts of India, the Government and the private sector has been creating awareness of the benefits of teaching yoga exercises and doing yoga.
Yoga classes were conducted at various locations in Coimbatore and as part of this, a yoga day was held at the Hindustan College in Peelamedu. The BJP National President of the Women's Wing and Coimbatore South Assembly member Vanathi Srinivasan attended the yoga training.
Speaking at the event, Vanathi Srinivasan said, "Yoga practice is the greatest art and has become very important during the pandemic. Practicing yoga can lead to peace of mind and good physical health. Since we have more stress in the field of politics, we are also undergoing yoga training. Union Ministers in various parts of India have been consistently doing this yoga practice."
The event was attended by BJP executives and volunteers from across Coimbatore District, as well as members of the college.
