A passenger from Dubai tested positive for covid-19 at Coimbatore International Airport

The test results confirmed that an Ariyalur man was infected with Covid 19 infection, and arrived in Coimbatore via Sharjah from Dubai. Coimbatore District Health Department officials notified the Ariyalur District Health Department regarding this. Since then he has been kept under home isolation.


Coimbatore: A passenger from Dubai has been positive for covid at the Coimbatore International Airport on Monday.

The corona virus infection which has been under control throughout the country is gradually increasing again in small numbers for the past few months.

In this concern, the central government directed all states to strengthen measures to prevent the spread of the corona virus through active monetization of passengers arriving from overseas.

According to this, 2 per cent of the passengers coming from foreign countries are randomly screened at the airports. As part of this, the health department has formed a special medical team at the Coimbatore airport and is conducting regular examinations.

In this situation, 2 per cent of the passengers who arrived in Coimbatore on April 9th from Sharjah were tested. In this, a 34-year-old youth from Ariyalur was tested for Covid-19. The results of the test samples were released today.

The test results confirmed that the man was infected with Covid 19 infection, and arrived in Coimbatore via Sharjah from Dubai.

The Coimbatore District Health Department officials then notified the Ariyalur District Health Department regarding the positive infection. Since then he has been kept under home isolation.

In addition, his nasal swab samples have been collected and sent to Chennai for testing to find out the variant of infection.

Coimbatore District Health Department Deputy Director Aruna informed that passengers arriving at Coimbatore Airport from foreign countries are being tested randomly. A passenger from Ariyalur who came from abroad tested positive for the corona virus. In this connection, swab tests have been collected and sent to Chennai for further verification.
