Coimbatore: Southern Railway has cancelled the Mangaluru Central–Shalimar Vivek Weekly Express, Train No. 22852, which was scheduled to depart from Mangaluru Central at 11 pm on October 31, 2026, affecting passengers travelling through Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode and Salem.
According to a press release from the Salem Division of Southern Railway, the cancellation follows the cancellation of its pairing service, Train No. 22851 Shalimar–Mangaluru Central Vivek Weekly Express, on October 29. That service was cancelled after water levels rose above the danger mark on a railway bridge in the Visakhapatnam Division, following a cyclone and heavy rains in the region.
As a consequence, the return service, Train No. 22852, which was scheduled to pass through the Salem Division, including Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode and Salem, on November 1, has also been cancelled.
