Nilgiri Mountain Railway Services Cancelled on October 26 Due to Rain and Landslides

Coimbatore: All train services on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) between Mettupalayam, Coonoor and Udhagamandalam (Ooty) have been cancelled for October 26, 2026, due to heavy rainfall and landslides in the Nilgiris.

According to Salem Division of Southern Railway, earth slips, fallen boulders, mud and uprooted trees have obstructed railway tracks at several locations, affecting train operations.

Passengers are advised to take note of the cancellation and make alternative travel arrangements.
