Accused involved in killing of mother and sister refered to Kilpauk mental hospital
The District Court ordered to sent the accused who murdered his own mother and sister to Kilpauk Government Hospital, owing to mental illness.
Pappathi (67) was residing along with her daughter Geetha (43) and her son Saravanakumar (39) near Police training college in Coimbatore-Avinashi road. In 2016, Pappathi and Geetha were found dead in a mysterious ways.
After three years of enquiry, last month the Race Course police arrested Saravanakumar for murdering his own mother and sister. He accepted that he killed them for financial related issues. Following this, he was imprisoned at Coimbatore Central Jail. However, medical examination revealed that he was affected with a mental disorder.
Following which the Court ordered to treat him at Coimbatore GH for the past two weeks. As he requires further medical intervention, the Justice ordered to shift him to Chennai Kilpauk GH.
The accused will be undergoing treatment in Kilpauk GH, under police protection, said police sources.
