The May 17 Movement leader Thirumurugan Gandhi has been arrested again after he was ordered to release by Madras high court.
The Chennai police on Thursday arrested Thirumurugan Gandhi in Bengaluru International Airport on charges of sedition.
He had spoken in UNHRC about the protests against Sterlite plant in Tuticorin and the police shootings that claimed several public lives.
After his arrest, he was brought to Chennai and produced in high court. The Judges dismissed the sedition charges and ordered to release him.
However, the Chennai Police have once again arrested Thirumurugan Gandhi this evening. The charges under which he was arrested is yet to be known. Scuffle broke out between the police and Thirumurugan Gandhi as he demanded the police the reason for his arrest.
