Thousands gather in Coimbatore to pay homage to departed DMK Supremo Karunanidhi

Coimbatore: Thousands of people including DMK cadres and top functionaries of other political parties marched here to pay homage to the late DMK Chief who passed away on August 7 at Chennai.

The march which was led by DMK MLA, N. Karthick of Singanallur Constituency commenced from Gandhipuram Anna Statue and went through VKK Menon street and ended in Siddhapudur where floral tributes were paid to the departed 94-year-old leader. 

Former DMK Minister Pongalur Palanisamy, Mayura Jayakumar from District Congress party, Mohankumar from MDMK, Ramakrishnan from TPDK and other top district functionaries from CPI (M), Dravida Kazhagam,VCK, Indian Union Muslim League, Manidhaneya Makkal Katchi took part in the march. 

This morning, hundreds of advocates of Coimbatore bar council mourned the death of former CM late Karunanidhi by paying floral tributes and silence in front of his portrait kept at Court premise.
