Coimbatore has gone backwards in development under ADMK government: MLA N Karthik
SInganallur Constituency MLA N Karthik said that the district’s development rates are poor and it has gone backward under the current ADMK government. The MLA made the statement after inspecting various parks in Peelamedu here.
Inspecting the park N Karthik said,” More than 100 parks were built in Coimbatore Corporation limits during the Semmozhi conference held here in 2010. Even workers were hired on a contract basis to maintain these parks and several other parks under the Corporation. However, for past two years, no proper maintenance is happening in these parks and people are finding it difficult to use it.”
The MLA said that the parks have turned into a home for unwanted bushes and poisonous insects. “The parks are ill-maintained and despite repeated complaints with Corporation Commissioner, no action was taken”, Karthik alleged. He also alleged that the Local government department is a complete failure and Minister SP Velumani hasn’t taken any interest to maintain these parks. Karthik also alleged,”Garbage has piled up in different parts of the city and the Corporation hasn’t taken any action.”
