Karumbukkadai Woman Inspector Muthulakshmi arrested three people, including a 47-year-old woman and her son, after police allegedly recovered 10 kg of cannabis, ₹19,500 in cash, a scooter and four mobile phones during a raid near Jalakandeswarar Temple in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Three people, including a mother and her son, were arrested by Karumbukkadai police in connection with the alleged possession and sale of cannabis near Jalakandeswarar Temple on Puttuvikki Road.
Police said they received a tip-off that cannabis had allegedly been stored in a vacant plot near the temple for sale. Acting on the information, a team led by Sub-Inspector Chandru conducted a search at the location.
During the operation, police detained three people found at the spot under suspicious circumstances. They were identified as Mubeena (47) of Rathinapuri, her son Mohammed Ziauddin (24), and Sahul Hameed (46) of Dharapuram in Tiruppur district.
Police seized 10 kg of cannabis allegedly kept for sale, ₹19,500 in cash, a scooter and four mobile phones from them.
