The first image when someone says a doctor is usually of a mid aged person, with little grey hair and a serious look. But the dermatologist cum actor, Dr.Sethu sets aside the conventional look of a doctor, with his contemporary looks and tech savvy approach to give his patients the best advice for their skin and hair.
His clinic, ZI set in Chennai and soon to be launched in Coimbatore is an apostle of combining world class technologies with experienced workforce to offer a full range of skin care and beauty treatments.

Here’s what the doctor has to say about the common myths on beauty and skin care.
Everyday there are new advanced skin care treatments sprouting up, but how do we recognize what is best for us?
How you look is how you feel, hence it is very important to take good care of your skin. Each one of us is blessed with a beautiful face; the skin care treatments available around us are an enhancement to what already exists in us, but each one of us has different need and skin type. Hence before opting for any skin treatment it is very important to consult a dermatologist rather than a beauty salon or following a trend for your skin. Understand your skin before you opt for a treatment.
The market has umpteen fairness creams that promise lighter shades to your skin, does it really make you fair.
Before you opt for a fairness cream, it is important to know why is your skin dark, is it because of some deficiency or a sun tan or a pigmentation. There are certain agents in a fairness cream that can lighten your skin shade like kojic acid is one of them but again you need to know whether it suits you.
It is better to prevent yourself from darkening than trying misleading fairness creams. Like always use a sunscreen, it’s a cover to protect your skin, cleanse your face and avoid using creams that have steroids. They will give you immediate results but will ruin your skin forever.
And most importantly dark is a colour that’s beautiful in itself, it highlights your features and is less prone to skin cancer so why crave for a lighter shade in the first place.
What should be an everyday regime one must follow for a good healthy skin?
Just like your body needs good food to perform good, even your skin needs the right food to glow. It is the largest visible organ of your body, treat it with good care.
Your intake is reflected on your skin, so if you eat well it will shows, if you stay unhealthy it will show.
Apart from a good and healthy diet it is important you cleanse your skin, not often but once in the morning and probably once before you sleep.
Use a good sunscreen during the day and a Vitamin C based cream for the night.
Drink lots of water to flush out the toxins and most importantly exercise, because only when you sweat, the pores of your skin opens up to breathe and give you that shine.
