Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi protest in Tirupur demanding curb in rise of yarn prices

Tirupur: More than 50 cadres of the Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi staged a protest in front of the Tirupur railway station, demanding a curb to the rise of yarn prices in Tirupur.



With the knitting industry on the verge of collapse due to the rising yarn prices every month, there have been various phased protests on behalf of the knitting sector urging the Central Government to immediately reduce the price of yarn. In this regard, a two-day strike was held last week by the knitting department.



On Tuesday, a protest was held in front of the Tirupur railway station by the Kongunadu Makkal Desiya Katchi cadres who urged the Central Government to immediately control the rise in yarn prices.



Led by the District Chairman, Robo Ravichandran, the protest had over 50 cadres participating.



During the demonstration, banners were raised against the Central Government and slogans were raised, urging the Centre to immediately reduce the price of yarn.
