Exhibition of paintings by Kalki Subramaniam in Pollachi: Sridevi and Che Guevara paintings captivate the audience

Transgender activist and artist Kalki Subramaniam has said that a portion of the proceeds from the paintings will be spent on the education of transgender people.


Coimbatore: Pollachi-based social activist, transgender Kalki Subramaniam's painting exhibition was held at a shop on Pollachi's Nallappa Street.

Pollachi Municipality Council President Siyamala Navaneetha Krishnan inaugurated the exhibition.



During the exhibition, various paintings including Revolutionary Che Guevara, a tribal woman and actress Sridevi were displayed and put up for sale. These paintings were admired by many visitors.

Transgender Kalki Subramaniam has appealed to the government that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of poorly painted paintings would be spent on the education of transgender people, adding that although the Tamil Nadu government was currently providing various assistance to transgender people, special attention should be given to setting up training halls to promote artistic and educational skills and providing two per cent reservation in government employment for transgender people.
