1500 kg ration rice seized near Coimbatore Pollachi - 4 arrested

Investigation revealed that ration rice was smuggled from Tamil Nadu to Kerala and sold in Kerala.



Coimbatore: 1500 kg of ration rice smuggled from Anaimalai near Pollachi to Kerala has been seized.

SIs Gnanasekaran, Bharat Nehru and police led by Pollachi Civil Supplies Criminal Investigation Department Inspector Gopinath conducted a vehicle check near Anaimalai Round about yesterday.

When the vehicle was tested, it was found to contain 1500 kg of ration rice in 30-bundles weighing 50 kg.

Following this, Sanjith and Rithish, a driver from Kerala, came in the vehicle and arrested 4 persons including Sachin.

The investigation revealed that ration rice was smuggled from Tamil Nadu to Kerala and sold in Kerala. Police subsequently arrested 4 people who registered the rice and the vehicle.
