Rains to continue in Valparai; motorists face severe difficulty in scaling the ghat roads

Coimbatore: Motorists could not drive on the Valparai Pollachi road due to heavy rains in Valparai.

It has been raining heavily for two days in the Valparai area of Coimbatore district. The normal life of the people has been severely affected by this heavy rain.

Motorists are facing difficulties due to heavy clouds on Valparai Pollachi Road. Covers, Oomayandikuttai, and Waterfalls estate area had motorists in trouble leaving their headlights on in broad daylight to drive the vehicle.

Due to the heavy rains, the road is not clear and the highway department has installed mirrors to see oncoming vehicles at the curve of the road.



It is found that this mirroris brokenin many places. Motorists report that this creates a situation where they are unable to drive safely.

Also, oncoming vehicles on the roads are unknowingly causing accidents. Motorists have demanded that the highway department set up flashing lights on both sides of the roads from the waterfall area to the bakery area, warning signs and warning lights on the curves.
