Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin inaugurated the 10,000-square-foot "Porunai" excavation exhibition and one-year achievements painting exhibition at the VOC Grounds, Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin inaugurated and inspected the "Porunai" Excavation Exhibition and the One Year Achievement Painting Exhibition organized at the Coimbatore Corporation VOC Grounds covering an area of 10 thousand square feet.
On behalf of the Department of Archeology, the exhibit contained the “Lower” Vaigai River Civilization, “Porunai” Riverside Civilization, “Kodumanal” Sangam Era Workshop, “Mayiladumparai” 4200 years old Iron Age Culture. 10 major Achievements Painting Exhibition on behalf of the Department of Mass Communication was set in square feet area. In total, 190 paintings are featured.
Archaeological excavations carried out by the Tamil Nadu division of the Archaeological Survey of India have concluded that rice particles in burial urns dating back to BC 1155 I have been identified. Scientific studies also show that the Tamiraparani riverside civilization, also known as the 'Tan Porunai', is 3200 years old.
Therefore, the general public, Tamil language and culture enthusiasts, school and college students are flocking to see the excavations that drum up the civilization of the ancient society. The exhibition will be open to the public from 10 am to 9 pm daily for 7 days from today till the 25th.
