Farmers congratulate Coimbatore Karumathampatti police for adding protesting farmers in rowdies list by giving bouquets

Farmers Union came to the Karumathampatti police station to congratulate the police for portraying them as rowdies because they were fighting for social issues. A commotion followed as farmers' union executives came to give bouquets and sweets.

Coimbatore: Would you add farmers who fought for basic necessities to the list of rowdies? The farmers staged a sit-in protest by handing over a bouquet to the Karumathampatti police.

Farmers and farmers' associations in the Karumathampatti area protested against the inclusion of farmers in the rowdies by Karumathampatti police.

In this situation, the Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Farmers' Protection Association, who had spearheaded several protests such as the Avinashi Athikadavu Project, Sand Robbery, Jallikattu, toll booth, Somanur bus stand accident and the anti-liquor store protests has been added to the list of rowdies who would have been perpetrators of murder, robbery, cannabis, lottery, alcohol and other such crimes. A petition was filed on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Farmers' Protection Association on December 8 against the inclusion of Elachipalayam Prabhakaran, Madhapur Jayakumar, Kaniyur Panchayat President Unjapalayam Velusamy and Ananthakumar in the rowdy list.

To date no name has been removed from the list of rowdies as the police who received the petition have assured that they will consider it.

The Tamil Nadu Farmers' Protection Union has launched an innovative protest against the Karumathampatti police for adding social activists to the rowdy list.

For this, more than 50 farmers had come to the Karumathampatti police station today to present a bouquet of flowers to the police in the presence of lawyer Prabhakaran, Ram and led by Eesan Murugasamy.

Police officials, who also refused to get the sweets and bouquets given by the farmers, said they would take action and the Deputy Superintendent of Police would hold talks with them.

It is noteworthy that the police were stunned by the inaction of the farmers' union executives who came to greet them without offering any protest and offer bouquets and sweets.
