One killed in a bike collision with lorry in Coimbatore

An injured youth died on the spot. The other three survived with minor injuries.


Coimbatore: A man was killed on the spot when his bike collided with a lorry in Coimbatore.

Manikandan (21) hails from Kollangudi in Sivagangai district. He stayed in the Andakkapalayam area of Coimbatore and worked for a private company.

Meanwhile, Manikandan took three of his friends Raghavan (24), Kaviyarasu (20) and Gauthan (24) on his two-wheeler last night and the four went to the Kalapatti market on the Vellanapatti-Kalapatti road in the same vehicle.

They were trying to overtake a former two-wheeler when it was passing near Sekan Garden. Then the oncoming car stalled and collided with a left-handed truck on the road.



In this, the injured Manikandan died on the spot. The other three survived with minor injuries. Following this, the Kovilpalayam police recovered Manikandan's body and sent it to the government hospital for autopsy. Cases are being filed and investigated.
