6.27 kms of tar roads in Manikandan Nagar worth Rs 3.24-crore being relaid

The road work was inspected by Mayor of Corporation Kalpana Anandakumar and the Commissioner of Corporation Rajagopal Sunkara.


Coimbatore: Most of the roads in Coimbatore are in a dilapidated condition. Thus, the construction of new tarred roads in all the 5 zones of the Corporation is in full swing.



Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar from time to time inspects every area where road works are being carried out. Under the Tamil Nadu Sustainable Urban Development Program, roads in Manikandan Nagar area of ​​wards 92 and 93 under Coimbatore Corporation Southern Zone are relaid at an estimated cost of Rs 3.24 crore. The construction of 6.27 km of tarred roads is underway at about 45 places.

The work was inspected by the Mayor of Coimbatore Kalpana Anandakumar and the Commissioner of the Corporation Rajagopal Sunkara.

During the inspection, the Deputy Mayor of the Corporation Vetrichelvan, Southern Regional Chairman Dhanalakshmi, Southern Regional Assistant Commissioner Annathurai, Council members Ilansekaran, Babu, Abdulkader, Assistant Process Engineers and other officials were present.
