Ugandan woman arrested for smuggling drugs to Coimbatore in her stomach

Through the course of the interrogation, it was revealed that the woman had swallowed something mysterious and smuggled it across international borders in her stomach.



Coimbatore: Air Arabia operates part of its flights between the Gulf nation of Sharjah and Coimbatore. The flight carrying this woman arrived at Coimbatore Airport from Sharjah 4 days ago.

The passengers were checked by the Central Revenue Investigation Division. Authorities were suspicious of Sandra Nandesha, 30, of Uganda at the time.

They immediately pulled her away for questioning. She responded in a manner that only raised their suspicions. Following this, the woman was detained and interrogated.

Through the course of the interrogation, it was revealed that the woman had swallowed something mysterious and smuggled it across international borders in her stomach. The Ugandan woman was later admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital by the Central Intelligence Agency. The woman was subsequently examined by doctors there.

Then it was revealed that there were drug pills in the woman's stomach. Following this, 41 drug pills were retrieved from the woman's stomach. Examination of the said pills revealed that the drugs were expensive and that the woman had swallowed the drugs in the form of a pill and swallowed them.

The woman has been receiving care at the Coimbatore Government Hospital for the past 3 days. In this situation, she is likely to appear in court today and be sent to the Puzhal Central Jail in Chennai considering the fact that she’s a foreigner.
