Also, the Tahsildar banned being carried on a palanquin. Following this, we Aadheenams decided to meet with the Minister of Hindu Religious Affairs in Coimbatore.

Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu government has lifted the ban on the Dharmapura Aadheenam palanquin function as the Aadeenams in Tamil Nadu have expressed their condemnation of the ban on the event.

Welcoming the order, Coimbatore Perur Aadheenam Santalinga Marudachala Adigalar said that the issue was subject to various prominent views. “Also, the Tahsildar banned being carried on a palanquin. Following this, we Aadheenams decided to meet with the Minister of Hindu Religious Affairs in Coimbatore.

They accepted it and set aside time and invited me to come to Chennai. At that time, the Minister explained what kind of problems would arise if the ban was lifted. Similarly, we also pointed out the kind of problems that would arise if the ban is not lifted.

This consultation meeting lasted for about 4 hours. Afterwhile, they arranged for us to meet with the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. It’s been a year since M.K.Stalin took charge as the chief minister, various events were scheduled in light of that. Despite his very busy schedule, the Chief Minister made time for us.

The Chief Minister, after hearing our views, has lifted the ban on events such as this that value the heritage and culture of the Aadheenams. I sincerely wish to thank him for that.

We are greatly indebted to the Minister of Hindu Religious Affairs Sekarbabu and the Commissioner for taking these issues to the Chief Minister in such detail.” he said.
