Government should not interfere in unnecessary matters, remove the ban on carrying in Pallaquin - Perur Aadheenam

Santhalinga Marudachala Adigalar has demanded that the government should remove the ban on Dharmapura Aadheenam using the pallaquin while meeting devotees

Coimbatore: Coimbatore Perur Aadeenam Santhalinga Marudachala Adigalar has demanded that the government lift the ban on carrying the Dharmapuram Aadeenam in Pallaquin and not interfere in unnecessary matters.

Dharmapuram Atheanam is located in the Mayiladuthurai district. Being one of the oldest Saivam Atheenam, the monastery is headed by the 27th Atheenam Srilasree Masilami Desikar Gnanasampantha Paramachariya Swami.

When he took office in 2019,he was carried around using Pallaquin by fellow devotees. The people carried the Atheenam in a silver pallaquin.

After that the pallaquin lifting ceremony was held at Vaitheeswaran Temple, Karaikal Thirunallar Sanibagavan Temple. There was strong opposition to this on behalf of the Dravidar Kazhagam.

In this case, the hunger strike on behalf of Dharmapuram Adheenam is scheduled to take place later this month against the Govt.

This has been strongly condemned by various Adheenams and Hindu organizations. Those who are spiritually inclined are also protesting. Coimbatore Perur Aadeenam Santalinga Marudasala Adigalar has also condemned the ban and said that, "Our religion is very ancient with numerous rituals. Festivities are held especially in the Saivam religious denomination. Festivals are held in temples and monasteries.

The pallaquin lifting program has been going on for a long time in Dharmapuram Adheenam. This has been traditionally observed. There it is a protocol that has been followed for a long time.

In this, the disciples go around as 'Guru Siva' without any system of bondage, slavery or persecution of the people. This is legacy. It is unfortunate that this has been banned by DMK government."
