The Road Safety Association petitioned in an innovative way by wearing a nebulizer mask used in hospitals and raising awareness of air pollution in the 13th Ward area.


Coimbatore: The incident where a road safety association wearing a nebulizer mask used in hospitals came up with a petition to the Pollution Control Board in an innovative manner to raise awareness of air pollution in the 13th ward area has caught everyone's attention.



According to the petition, the company was operating an old car parts scrap company on a private estate opposite Darshan Avenue in the 13th Ward Urumandampalayam area of Coimbatore.

In this company tires, electrical wires, car seat covers seem to be burned out of the company. Similarly, smoke from an aluminum smelter in the area pollutes the air and chemical waste enters the earth and affects the land.

In Darshana Garden, Srinivasa Nagar More than 300 families living in areas including SKV Garden, VIP Garden and Surya Garden are affected.

In addition, the residents of the area are suffering from diseases including shortness of breath and eye irritation due to the smog zone, the petition said.

Therefore, the Coimbatore District Road Safety Association has filed a petition with the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board at Kavundampalayam seeking appropriate action in this regard.



They went to present the petition wearing a nebulizer mask and handed over the petition to the District Environmental Assistant Engineer Neelmek.

The Collector was astonished to see the petitioner wear the nebulizer mask on his nose in such a modern way as it is in the ICU unit of the hospital.
