Government bus driver who was drunk while driving collided with a car in Coimbatore

In the Thudiyalur area of Coimbatore, a drunk driver of a government bus was caught by the public and handed over to the police. Subsequently, the police filed a case against the government bus driver for drink and drive.



Coimbatore: A case has been registered against a drunk driver of a government bus who collided with a car in Coimbatore.

Raghu (31) hails from Kagguchi village in the Nilgiris district. He currently resides in Neelambur, Coimbatore. He joined the service in 2015 as a temporary government bus driver.

Raghu was driving a government bus on the Coimbatore - Mettupalayam road last night. The speeding bus collided head-on with a taxi near Thudiyalur GN Mills.

Subsequently, when he got out of the bus it was revealed that he was intoxicated. This led to an argument between the taxi driver and the intoxicated government bus driver. The public gathered around immediately around the collision spot.

Also, it was revealed that he had been driving a government bus fast for a long distance under the influence of alcohol. The government bus driver Raghu was handed over to the Thudiyalur police by the public. Following this, the Thudiyalur police registered a case against the government bus driver.
