The special team investigating the Kodanad case has summoned Poonkunran a third time for questioning, after he was interrogated for two days on April 29 and 30.
Coimbatore: The late former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's Personal Assistant Poonkunran is being interrogated for the third day today, in connection with the Kodanad heist-cum-murder case.
Five special forces led by the Western Regional Police Chief Sudhakar have been intensifying their probe into the Kodanad case, in the past month. Subsequently, investigations are underway with various people involved in the case. Police have been summoning those who had earlier been interrogated, for re-investigation purposes and also sending summons to new persons to appear for interrogation. 200 people have been investigated thus far.
In this regard, the police are conducting a serious investigation on Poonkunran who had been working with former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa for more than 18 years. The police summoned Poonkunran to appear for questioning for the third day on Wednesday after he was interrogated for two consecutive days on April 29 and 30. Following this, Poonkunran appeared for questioning by the special team at around 10.30 am.

During the interrogation, Poonkunran was questioned on who were the people who were given easy access into the Kodanad estate bungalow, who was allowed to enter the room where the important documents were kept, and what kind of activities was the driver Kanagaraj involved in while working for Jayalalithaa etc. Police sources say that new information is likely to be available from Poonkunran's interrogation.
Following the death of Kanagaraj, the main accused in the Kodanad heist-cum-murder case, the police are intensifying their investigation to get more information, and a report on the case is expected soon.
