Elephant herd breaks the shutters of a grocery store near Thadagam and eats food items

Seven wild elephants, which had left the Periyathadagam forest, broke the shutters of a grocery store in the Thanneerpandhal area this morning.



Coimbatore: Seven wild elephants, which had left the Periyathadagam forest in Coimbatore district, roamed the residential areas in the Thanneerpandhal area this morning in search of food and water.

In it, 3 elephants broke the shutters of a grocery store and ate all the rice and lentils in the store. Out of concern, forest officials rushed to the spot and chased the elephants into the forest. Meanwhile, locals have taken video of elephants breaking the shutters of grocery stores and eating items including rice on their cell phones and uploading them on social media.

These videos are currently going viral on social media.
