Coimbatore: City Police are on the lookout for an intruder who reportedly broke into a house in Periyanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore and stole 7 sovereigns of gold jewelry while the owners were fast asleep in the house.
Ayyasamy hails from G Kavundampalayam near Periyanaickenpalayam in Coimbatore. His mother and wife, Valliammal and Kalamani were sleeping in a separate room and hall respectively, with the front door ajar. A man presumably aged between 25-35 broke into their house around midnight and stole around 7 sovereigns of jewelry from the cupboard in the bedroom.
However, when Kalamani woke up and was alerted to the stranger's presence, the intruder fled before the inmates could catch him.
