Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan participates in Mupperum Thiruvizha festival in Coimbatore

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan has participated in the three-day celebrations of Subakiruthu Annual Birth, Birth Anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar and 75th Independence Day Amudha Vizha held at Thavathiru Santhalinga Adigalar Educational Institute, Perur, Coimbatore.



Coimbatore: The Telangana Governor and the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, Tamilisai Soundararajan participated in the Mupperum Thiruvizha at Perur temple in Coimbatore.

Perur Aadheenam Maruthachala Adigalar and Koumara Mutt Kumaragurubara Adigalar also participated in the function.

Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, who arrived in Perur, was accorded a police parade honour. Speaking on the occasion, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan began her address with Tamil Vanakkam, and stated that she will be present in places where Tamil is revered, adored. Adding that not a single Ramasamy, but Santhalinga Ramasamy Adigal, who is here, has also served the Tamil.



She also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ordering a year-long celebration of the 75th anniversary of Independence. "It is spirituality that helped in the development of Tamil," she said, adding that she has the habit of going to all the mutts and "I will accept whatever habits they follow.". This the Governor stated that is being misread, and written out of context.

Tamilisai added that she is keen on people service, spiritual service, and welcomed those who were only putting out opinions, now wanted to know of the 'saffron's' notion. She stated that the monasteries, when invited for meeting with the government, are given due respect.



"Saffron represents spirituality, that is why saffron is so big in Tamil Nadu. We should donate whatever we can as wealth and charity to the Aadheenams," she said.

She called herself an honest politician and that PM Modi never did inform them of demonetisation earlier, and they did not have black money. She demanded that the government pay special attention to educational institutions run by monasteries so that they can help in the education of girl children. She said governors have no difference of opinion on governance and they are, but, one among the people.
