Pothole on road claims life of youth near Sulur

The CCTV footage of the tragic accident has shocked the public, and the Sulur Police have registered a case to investigate the accident.


Coimbatore: The CCTV footage of a 25-year-old youth skidding off the road after hitting a pothole on the road near Sulur in Coimbatore, and being crushed to death after a bus runs over him, has shocked the public and netizens.

Kaliyappan (25) of Madurai works at a fruit shop in Kovilpalayam in Coimbatore. He returned to Coimbatore from his native place, Madurai on his two-wheeler, on Wednesday. Kaliappan reportedly lost control of his vehicle when he hit a pothole near Ranganathapuram in Sulur, totally caught unaware by the road's condition.



Even as he fell to the side, he was run over by a State-run bus and died on the spot.

The Sulur police who reached the accident spot recovered Kaliyappan's body and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem.



Based on the CCTV footage of Kaliyappan's accident, a case has also been registered in connection with the accident and an investigation is underway.
