Congress party observes Iftar, fast breaking in Coimbatore

The congress party and people of all religions participated in the Iftar fast, as an example of communal harmony. After listening to the discourses of Muslims on the value of fasting, the people of other religions joined them in fasting and abdicated their fast.


Coimbatore:The Congress committee of the District organized Iftar fast, to transcend the religious barriers and spread communal harmony among the people.

Muslims have been fasting since Ramadan began. Meanwhile, the Coimbatore City District Congress Committee organised an Iftar fast opening ceremony.



Congress working President Mayura Jayakumar, Congress general secretary, Kottai Abbas, Coimbatore district Sunnath Jamaath policy federation president Inayatullah, Thavathiru Perur Adheenam, Thambiran Swamigal, Bishop Joe Prakash and other people from various religions participated in the function held at Kamaraj Bhavan and discussed the values of fasting.

People of all religions participated in the iftar fast, which was an example of communal harmony. Various social organisations participated in the event.
