Inspections at Central Zone, City corporation imposes penalties on shops using plastics

The Corporation officials held inspections at central zone based on the orders of the CCMC Commissioner and imposed fines on shops that used banned plastics and special cleanliness works were carried out in North Zone.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore corporation officials inspected shops in Central zone ward 81. The officers imposed fines on shops which still used plastic bags.

As per the orders of the Municipal Corporation Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara IAS, 15 kg of plastic items were seized from stores in ward 81 of central zone in the inspection held on Tuesday. Penalties were imposed on the store keepers using plastic items banned by the Government of Tamil Nadu. A total fine of Rs.4,200/- was imposed on the owners of the shops by the Corporation officials.



A special cleanliness drive for milling dry wood and plants using a wooden machine was carried out in Aruna Nagar, Jai Nagar and Bango Road areas under Ward No.18 of Coimbatore Corporation North Zone.



In Gandhi Nagar area under Ward No.25 of Coimbatore Corporation Central Zone, the corporation's dengue mosquito control workers went door-to-door to pour abate medicine into tanks, remove unwanted items and detect mosquito larvae in the water stored by the public.



Similarly, the corporation workers were engaged in laying tar roads on T.V.Samy Road under Ward No.71 of Coimbatore Corporation West Zone.
