BJP block Collectorate in Coimbatore in protest against removal of PM Modi’s photo from panchayat office

BJP members in Coimbatore have expressed objection over DMK Kanagaraj removing Modi's portrait from Town Panchayat Office in Vellalore and have gathered at the Collectorate seeking action.


Coimbatore: The DMK councillor Kanagarj removing PM's photo in Vellalore town panchayat has instigated the BJP workers, who are gheraoing Collector's office.

The BJP workers displayed the Prime Minister's photo at the Vellalore town panchayat office two days back.



Reportedly, the DMK councillor Kanagaraj removed it.



The BJP workers were arrested by the police after they staged a protest in front of the town panchayat office.



The police officer on duty at the Collectorate shut doors as more than 100 BJP workers arrived today (25th April) and gathered to demand appropriate action against the DMK councillor.



This resulted in BJP workers raising slogans. One group is waiting inside the Collectorate while the other outside.



However the police there had to arrest the protestors as they resorted to a sit down at the Collectorate making their demands.



The place has been in a commotion since people have been rising slogans of protest.
