10-year-old boy electrocuted to death while playing in an apartment park in Coimbatore.

A ten-year-old boy was electrocuted after he accidentally came in contact with a live electricity wire in his apartment complex garden, on Sunday night.



Coimbatore: A ten-year-old boy was electrocuted to death after he accidentally came in contact with a live electricity wire in his apartment complex garden on Sunday here. 

According to initial reports, Lakshan (10) who resides with his mother at a Sree Daksha Sanshray (Phase 2) apartment on Thondamuthur Road, here was out playing with his friends, this evening. He allegedly came in contact with a live wire at the children's play area and got electrocuted. 



Sources state that the child was rescued in an unconscious state. Despite administering CPR, the child did not wake up and hence was rushed to a private hospital in Vadavalli from where he was shifted to Coimbatore government hospital for further treatment. Sadly, the child was declared dead upon arrival at Coimbatore GH. 

The Vadavalli police who have been notified of the issue, rushed to the apartment complex and are investigating. The body of the child will be handed over to the parents after an autopsy, said police sources. 

The incident has left the parents inconsolable and the residents in immense shock and grief.
