Sewage water seeping from manhole in Coimbatore disturbs commuters

Waste water seeping from the manhole in Balasundaram road in Coimbatore near Anna Salai has distraught the commuters and requests have been made to overcome the situation before serious health hazards, accidents happen

Coimbatore:Waste water leakage from manhole in Balasundaram road has distressed the public.

The Balasundaram Road, in Coimbatore, is a major point of connection for Aavarampalayam, Gandhipuram and Singanallur. The road also connects major government offices including Coimbatore District Collectorate, Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner's office and government hospital.

However, the road has not been a pleasing surface to commute as the manhole leak makes puddles of sewer water engulf the road. The foul smell emanated certainly increases the chances of getting infected and the public are seen covering their faces in disgust and discomfort to avoid the foul smell. Those visiting the private English coaching centre located on Balasundaram Road are also forced to cover their noses.

An immediate attention from the Corporation has been demanded to repair the manhole leak and bring itunder control.
