Mystery man haunting women's hostel in city's Bharathiar University arrested

The Vadavalli police arrested the 19-year-old youth who had been roaming around dressed in women's clothes at night near the women's hostel to loot laptops and mobile phones from hostels.


Coimbatore:The mystery man who had been seen strolling and haunting the Bharathiar University's women's hostel in women's clothes has been finally arrested.

The Vadavalli police arrested Surendran (19), a native of Kalveerampalayam, Marudhamalai Road. Preliminary investigations revealed that he had broken into the women's hostel in Bharathiar University and stole items like a laptop and a cell phone.

The arrest has brought relief to the women in the hostel who had been staging a road roko demanding a proper probe against the elusive miscreant roaming their hostel and also to provide adequate security to the women.
