Elderly woman alleges grandson of denying her pension credited to his account; seek help

An elderly woman has accused that her grandson has been receiving her pension into his account without her knowledge, has been dodging her calls and requested that action has to be taken to retrieve her money.



Coimbatore: An old woman in coimbatore has accused her grandchild of taking her pension money without her knowledge.

An 80-year-old woman came to the collector's office to lodge a complaint alleging that she was sending pension money to her grandson's bank account in Coimbatore and was suffering a lot as her grandson did not give her the money.



Suryanarayanan and his wife Rajammal hail from Peelamedu in Coimbatore. Suryanarayanan, a retired Electricity board employee died due to illness last year. Rajammal has since been living off alone. Reportedly, for the last four months, she did not receive her pension and upon inquiring at the bank, they stated that her grandson has been receiving the money to his account.

The man has also been dodging her phone calls. Rajammal, filed a complaint with the District Collector on Wednesday, 20th April, broke down in tears and narrated the problems that had befallen her.



She lamented that she has been living alone, and helped her grandson get proper education who is currently working in the US, but has been taking her money away. The daughter-in-law has also been chasing the old woman away if approached at their home.

Adding that her old age has not been very helpful and has spent around Rs 2,000 on an auto rickshaw and demanded that she be given necessary help in the issue.
