Man arrested for attempting to sell ganja to migrant workers in Coimbatore

The K G Chavadi police who were involved in checking at Thirumalayampalayam Division arrested a migrant worker from for being in possession of contraband which he aimed to sell to other migrant workers in the area.


Coimbatore: The KG Chavadi police have arrested a man for trying to sell ganja targeting labourers from Northern States, near Thirumalayampalayam in Coimbatore.

The KG Chavadi police had been patrolling near the Thirumalayampalayam section of the Coimbatore-Palakkad highway, when they caught ahold of a man suspecting him due to his contradictory replies. The police searched him and found ganja in his possession.

The man identified as Rajan (43), a native of Odisha was working in a private company in Kinathukadavu area. It was discovered that he had procured ganja and was targeting to sell it to migrant labourers. Following this, the police arrested Rajan and seized 2.5 kg of ganja from him. Later, he was produced in court and sent to jail.
