21 babies delivered on the move in 108 ambulance in past 3 months in Coimbatore

The District Ambulance Officer has reported that in the past three months from January to March, 21 babies have been delivered in the moving 108 ambulance in Coimbatore owing to traffic delays.


Coimbatore: In the last three months from January to March, 21 babies have been delivered in the 108 ambulance while on the way to hospitals in Coimbatore.

Fortunately enough, mothers and babies have been healthy in spite of the deliveries happening in the ambulance, due to the help of emergency medical staff in the ambulances.

Gopalakrishnan, District Officer of 108 ambulance stated that medical emergency technicians working in the 108 ambulances in Coimbatore district are being trained on human life-saving first-aid. He also added that in spite of the 21 emergency deliveries in moving 108 ambulances in the past 3 months, the mothers and babies had not been endangered in any way.
