Air traffic increases to 22 flights per day at Coimbatore International Airport post 2-year pandemic gap

In the international transport segment, flights are available to countries including Sharjah and Singapore, and in the domestic transport segment flights are available to various cities including Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Pune and Hyderabad.


Coimbatore: Due to the decline in Covid cases, the number of daily flights being operated daily at Coimbatore International Airport has now increased to 22.

With travellers from Coimbatore as well as its seven surrounding districts availing the seervices of Coimbatore International Airport, it is estimated that about 30 lakh passengers travel every year.

However, the Covid pandemic hampered air services across the world in the past two years. As far as Coimbatore International Airport was concerned which was operating at least 33 flights daily, the number of flight runs dropped drastically to five per day in the last two years.

But with Covid cases on a steep decline lately, the number of flights operating daily from the Coimbatore International Airport has increased to 22. Night-time flights (10 pm to 3 am) are on a halt due to the runway restoration work at the Coimbatore International Airport. However, 22 flights are operating daily between 3 am and 10 pm.

In the international transport segment, flights are available to countries including Sharjah and Singapore, and in the domestic transport segment flights are available to various cities including Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Pune and Hyderabad.

After two years, the increase of daily flight operations from Coimbatore International Airport has been welcomed by passengers.
