Calf meat sellers petition Coimbatore Collector: allege cow slaughter houses overcharge against Government fixed rates

The calf meat seller have submitted a petition at the Collectorate stating that the cow slaughter houses in Coimbatore charge them an amount above the scale fixed by the government and demanded immediate action on the issue



Coimbatore: Calf meat sellers alleging that slaughter houses overcharge them, demanded that an action has to be taken immediate on the issue.



The city corporation's cattle slaughter houses are functioning in Sathi Road and Chettipalayam areas of Coimbatore. Aslam Ali and Ibrahim Badusha, who have bid for the plots, have submitted a petition to the Coimbatore collector's office alleging that they are being charged Rs 300-500 for the cow and Rs 150 for the calves but are not provided proper receipt to the purchases.The vendors who came to submit the petition brought two bullock calves along with them, banners on its necks that read 'Extortion'.

They were stopped by the police on duty there. Following this, the meat sellers submitted petition at the Collector's office seeking action
