Coimbatore Airport Departure Terminal tender cancelled twice; Tender announced third time for construction works

Both tenders were cancelled citing administration reasons.

Coimbatore: While the tender announced for the Coimbatore Airport Departure Terminal construction works was cancelled twice, a tender has been called a third time for the construction works.

According to airport sources, "Post Covid-19 outbreak, Coimbatore International Airport began to witness normalcy. Each year, 30 lakh people are using the airport. The expansion scheme has also been delayed due to land acquisition process.

Hence, presently lack of space has caused huge inconvenience to the passengers. The Airport administration is trying their best to add various amenities for passengers in the available space.

The departure terminal is operating in the old building. Thus far, two tenders have been announced. Just as passengers were pleased with the news, both tenders were cancelled citing administration reasons.

Now, for the third time, a tender has been announced for constructing the departure terminal at Coimbatore Airport. Hence, travellers are hoping that at least this third time, construction works will be carried out without cancellation." added airport sources.
