Anna University's website now translates to Tamil after news reports

The Anna University's website language which contained the contents in English has now been translated to Tamil, and uploaded again with the necessary changes.


Coimbatore: Following news reports, the English website of Anna University has been translated into Tamil and uploaded.

Anna University occupies a prominent position in the list of leading technical universities in the country. There are more than 450 engineering and management colleges affiliated to the university. The official website had no alterations done for the past 10 years, and was working with minor changes alone. The department of Higher Education had directed the University administration to make the website innovative to suit the current requirements.

Following this, Anna University website was completely revamped and a few days back, it became operational for students and professors. However, all the pages in the site including the home page were designed with contents in English.

While the Government of Tamil Nadu has been pressing on giving importance to Tamil, the website of the leading Technical University of the Government of Tamil Nadu having its contenst in English led much to the chagrin of the students and academicians. According to a detailed report published in our daily yesterday, the Anna University administration has taken swift action and translated the new website of the university into Tamil format.

It has been arranged to link the Google language conversion app and make the English website appear online with Tamil pages. The students have demanded that the web pages has to soon be designed with proper Tamil language contents afresh in the coming days.
