Patta transfer camp held in city's Peelamedu area; 300 plus transfers aimed for the day

The patta transfer camp is being held at Peelamedu in the 52nd Ward of Coimbatore Corporation under the chairmanship of Lakshmi Ilanselvi, President, East Zone.


Coimbatore: A patta transfer camp is underway at Peelamedu in Coimbatore. The camp is being chaired by the East Zone President, Lakshmi Ilanselvi Karthik and the organizers have planned to transfer at least about 300 pattas by the end of the day.



The patta transfer camp began on Tuesday morning at a wedding hall in Peelamedu and will continue till evening. The pattas are being examined by Government officials, including South Tahsildar Saranya, Natham Land Revenue Project Tahsildar Kalpana Alamelu, Deputy Tahsildar Ilavarasi, Revenue Inspector Rani and the VAO.



The certificates for changes in the patta will be handed over to the applicants by the end of the day, and the organizers have planned to transfer more than 300 pattas by the end of the camp. One of the applicants had stated that there was a long due demand from locals for name change in pattas, and this camp is now being held to benefit the innumerable applicants.



South Tahsildar Saranya who oversees the camp stated that the camp was being conducted on the orders of the District Collector of Coimbatore, G S Sameeran. More than 100 people have applied and will be issued a certificate of their transferred pattas in the evening.



Lakshmi Ilanselvi Karthik stated that the camp was for the public and proper permissions were obtained from the District Collector G S Sameeran, after the locals in Ward No. 52 had put forth repeated demands for name change in patta. "All those who have applied for a change of patta will be issued certificates in the evening," she reiterated.
