K S Alagiri predicts Centre will also witness regime change like TN at Padayatra flag-off in Coimbatore

The Padayatra of the Congress Human Rights Wing was flagged off by K S Alagiri at Coimbatore and will culminate in Chennai.

Coimbatore: K S Alagiri, the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President flagged off the 'Padayatra' of the Congress Human Rights Wing at the South Tahsildar Office in Coimbatore on Monday, April 11.

The 18-day journey on foot being undertaken by a total of 56 Congress workers, led by Mahatma Srinivasan, In-charge of the party's Human Rights Department, for a distance of 550 km to protest against the hike in petrol and diesel prices, will culminate in Chennai.

"The Centre will also witness a regime shift, like the ADMK," stated K S Alagiri in his interaction with the media after flagging off the Padayatra. He lauded the efforts of the Human Rights Department of Congress in protesting against the soaring prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas, and the imposition of a minimum tax on GST. K S Alagiri also condemned the Home Minister Amit Shah's statement that non-Hindi speaking states should follow Hindi, "The Home Minister's statement that states which do not speak Hindi should follow the language is unconstitutional. A division in Pakistan arose due to the language issue and India should never be in such a scenario.

The Sri Lankan issue is different and the Indian crisis is different. Indians will take any decision only after it is too late. It has been seven years since Modi came to power and just as the AIADMK government was removed by the people after 10 years, the change at the Centre also is bound to happen after 10 years of Modi's regime," opined K S Alagiri.
